Portugal is a city of historical importance. It offers a wide range of destinations, from sea shores to national architectural sites. The country is also known for its delicious food ranging from cheese, olive, bread, red wine, chargrilled fish, smoked meat and cataplana or seafood stew. Apart from the scenic delights, the festivals of the country are quite well-liked and attractive as well which mostly consists of drinking, feasting and dancing.

Portugal is regarded as one of the oldest country which is full of magnificent old churches, rambling historic castles and beautiful monuments. These are equally matched by the new era of buildings and technologies that have spring up in recent years fuelled by a floating expanding economy. Portugal is rich in arts and history. If you are looking for a golfing holiday Portugal should be on top of the travelling list. Most of the best golf courses in Portugal are found in the Algarve region, which has a status as one of Europe’s top golfing destinations.

The Algarve region of Portugal, located in the south of the country, is the perfect destination to visit at any time of year. Its weather stays warm all year round and the charming coastline offers a large variety of marine activity.

Fishing is an important way of life for many in Portugal. Each year during the month of August a huge seafood festival is hosted by one of the ports in the Algarve.

If you are looking for a unique place to visit – try some of the Islands along the Portuguese coast. The Azores known for the peaceful way of life, the Azores volcanic history has left a truly magical landscape. Many tourists simply visit Portugal for a calming holiday and in search of sun and sea. For those tourists looking to Atlantic beaches the region of Algarve fits the bill. It is an area of extensive clean sandy beaches stretching out to some of the cleanest water in Europe. The area is renowned worldwide for its crystal clear waters that are mystically surrounded by remarkable cliffs. To top it off, the Algarve is regarded to have the best all round weather and has some of the best holiday villas in Europe.
