Travel to Switzerland by Air 

Transportation in SwitzerlandThe significant airports of Switzerland are located in Basel, Geneva and Zurich along with some smaller airports as well in Berne and Lugano.

The country is connected to several major European cities as well including Milan in Italy, Paris in France, Frankfurt and Munich in Germany.

The main carrier flight of the country is SWISS which is the successor of the defunct Swissair and is a member of the Star Alliance.

 

Travel to Switzerland by Train

Transportation in SwitzerlandThe country is served by a nexus of the railway network that connects not only all the major cities of the country by also with the rest of Europe. Some of the major railway routes of the country including:

TGV Lyria high-speed trains which run daily and connect some of the major Swiss cities like Geneva, Basel, and Bern Switzerland with Paris, Nice, Dijon and Avignon in France.

Regular ICE and EurCity trains connect the Swiss city of Zurich with Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin, Hamburg, Mannheim and Karlsruhe in Germany as well as Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Also there are regular night trains from Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Prague, Hamburg, Belgrade, Rome, Vienna, Barcelona, Venice and Rome to Swiss cities of Zurich, Lausanne, Basel and Geneva.
