Keukenhof, otherwise known as the ‘Garden of Europe’. Keukenhof lies in Lisse, known as the flower village, between Amsterdam and The Hague. In the space of eight weeks, in Amsterdam’s Tulip & Flower Festival, more than 500 flower growers and bulb purveyors show off what they have. The Keukenhof garden dates back to the 15th century. Used to be known as the gardens of the Countess Jacqueline of Bavaria. Today it is over 200 hectares and hosts the annual tulip festival. This year sees the 67th edition of this vibrant and colourful feast for the eyes.
A highlight of Amsterdam’s Tulip & Flower Festival is the Flower Parade called Bloemencorso Bollenstreek. In 2019 it will take place on Saturday 13 April. A parade between Noordwijk and Haarlem and going on the whole day for 12 hours.
