A fair great for those fascinated by history, culture and theatrical reenactments.

Fira De L’ Aixada Medieval Festival is a yearly medieval festival held in February in Manresa (Barcelona) with music, dance, historical recreations and other activities mainly created to request to the Middle Age fans. The Festival of the Light includes the so called “Fira de l’Aixada” (Axe Fair), which transforms the old centre into an inventive medieval market.

In February, the historic town of Manresa is packed with masters of ancient trade, craftsman, joglars, funambulists and alternative attractions that renew the spirit of the 18th century.

Divided into three zones, explore over 200 exhibits of food, music, medieval workshops and surprise acts by live performers among the crowds.

In La Plana del Om, there will be an exhibition of siege weapons, (weapons which were formerly used to destroy or overcome fortresses, walls and castles during a siege), by Michel Redrado.

Also in La Pana del Om, Juli Logan, from El Taller de l’Art, shows the complexity of the ancient craftsmanship of engraving wood sculptures.

On Sobrerroca street, there will be a workshop of Musical instruments exhibit by Alejandro Ballestar.

At Parc de la Catedral, participants will be spellbound at the Magic School where recreation of 18th century rituals are held.

Leather workshops and a wicker and wool workshop will also be hosted in the Parc de la Catedral.

Learn the trades of glassblowing, tinsmiths and ceramicists with local artists at Parc de la Seu.
