Dazzling blue skies, remarkable parades and aromatic flower battles on the Promenade des Anglais make Nice Carnival one of the greatest events. The Nice Carnival is one of the world’s most important carnival events, together with the Brazilian Carnival and Venetian Carnival. Every year, it is held in February in Nice on the French Riviera.
The event fascinates over a million visitors to Nice every year. The Carnival spans a two-week period in February.
Every year, a special subject is selected and traditional artists create 18 floats and other collectables in traditional papier-mache for the colourful parade. The parades take place day and night, while on the Promenade des Anglais, “flower battles” occur.
The attractive capital of the Côte d’Azur becomes the background for a series of theatre performances, colourful stalls, firework displays and outstanding parades featuring highly decorated floats and massive papier mâché figurines.
